Insightful comments

In the car on the way home from pre-school:

Sabrina:   "Please let's go to a park and frozen yogurt."
Randy:   "We are going to have lunch at home and then go downtown."
Sabrina:   "Don't you have the cards?"
Randy and Julie wondering what cards she is talking about.
Sabrina:   "Don't you have the red card?"   (referring to the debit card.)
Randy and Julie smile as we realize she has figured out how to take an excuse away from us.
