Savannah Crud
The last couple of weeks Sabrina and Julie have been suffering from something with head cold and allergy symptoms. It is a weird one: that is for sure! But, just when a doctor's trip is thought to be needed, progress is noted. Headaches go away. Congestion lessons. Coughing is less frequent. Typical symptoms of what locals call the "Savannah Crud". Apparently, some lucky folks will catch this fun experience four times a year---I can't imagine since this is week three in our household!. Others will get it once a year at the same season of the year. Theory has it that there is a unique to Savannah system due to pollen, coastal air, winds, stormy weather, and probably a mix of the thunder and lightning storms and increase of barometric pressure that is the culprit for the Savannah Crud. Local Georgians who move to Savannah from other areas also fall prey to the Savannah Crud. Pharmacies must do a lot of business in this area arming the Savannahites with Claritan, cough syrup, Mussenex, and antibiotics! Yikes!
