Old Sheldon Church

The Old Sheldon Church is located off a side road along the highway between Savannah and Charleston.   The church was burned down twice.   It was rebuilt and then was destroyed during the Civil War, never to be rebuilt again.   Its beautiful frame has been filmed in several movies and is often the backdrop for wedding pictures and family professional photos.

This old tree must have grown around the brick on the front gate.

The corner shot while walking up the driveway.

From the front looking though what would have been the front door to the alter.

Through a side window.

The graveyard behind the cemetery.

Another window.

Behind the alter.

Slapping a mosquito which were thick!   Sabrina was careful not to go where fire ants might be as this was the grounds where she was bit our first week back in the South.
