Lately we have been playing card games in the evenings. The newest addition came from a High Five magazine and is a concentration game using the different leaves from trees. It is a nice game in that we are all learning how to identify different leaf patterns and name them. After the game is over we count our pairs. As a visual I have Sabrina line up the pairs side by side and we compare each persons' collection of cards using the words "more", "less", "greater than" and "less than". As a true descendant of the Burridge family she has creative listening skills. She had more in her pile but said, "I've got Moses!".
Other cute things she had done include trying to nurse a grasshopper back to health and giving her little CD player a drink of water because it was thirsty. We try to smile and enjoy this stage even though we are thinking we might have had more energy for a four year old if we were in our twenties.....
