Corvallis events for those staying in town a few days....

For people who arrive early or stay late and are
looking for something to do in Corvallis here are some
ideas:

Saturday August 5--Benton County Courthouse is having
an art show on its lawn which starts in the morning.
We am not sure of the artist involved, but there
should be some local artists displaying their work.

Benton County Fair--53rd street fairgrounds. It
will be in full swing the weekend of our wedding.

Sweethome, Oregon--Country music jamboree.

Newport Aquarium--One hour west of Corvallis. This
aquarium has wonderful shark, otter and seal exhibits.

Local parks---For those traveling with children, Avery
Park (14th Steet--a block from Hwy 20 by the OSU
campus) has a train and "dinosaur bones" for children
to climb and large grassy areas to run. Another
fun park is Chintimini park (27th a couple of blocks
from Harrison) In the downtown area across from the
Public Library is Central Park which has swings,
slides and large grassy open spaces near the downtown
area.

Registry information

Several people have asked where we are registered so I
thought it might be helpful to post the information.

Our main registry is at Macy's. They have online
information available.
Other smaller registries are at the Inkwell (Corvallis
only I believe) and Bed Bath and Beyond.

We will live in Everett after the wedding.

Several people have asked where we will be living
after we are married. Randy has a house already in
Everett, Washington. The plan is for me to move up
there. Currently, we are in the process of gradually
moving my stuff to Randy's. I will be out of my
Roseburg apartment after school is out in June.
Until the wedding I will live with my parents in Corvallis.---Julie

May update

The Church of the Good Samaritan does not have air
conditioning but the reception will have air
conditioning. Our hope is to bring in some fans and
open the doors in the morning to cool the church, but
it would be wise to dress with the idea it could be
warm for the ceremony but cool for the reception.
August could be warm or cold temperature wise in Corvallis.

Thanks, John

This is just a quick note to thank John for all of the
work he put into making this blog site and showing
Julie how it works.

Isn't it great having a geeky brother who taught
himself about computers in 1978.
