Hot walk at Ft. Pulaski

We were planning on going to Ft. Pulaski for Randy's birthday but due to strangling traffic on Tybee Island, we ran out of time before and after the dolphin tour.   This Sunday we returned to Ft. Pulaski to walk new sections of the walkways.

This path went from the parking lot to a fort that was built after Pulaski was damaged to protect the water ways during the Mexican-American War.   It, too, is abadoned now but provides a great vantage point for watching the river.

This is monument to John Wesley who I think is buried here...

Shaded trees were greatly appreciated on this hot, muggy day!
An old cistern.

Rest for tired from a great viewpoint.

Back by the moat of Ft. Pulaski!

Mom could not watch this photo shoot!   Too close to the edge!
