Oregon Coast Aquarium

Our last Sunday in Oregon, Sabrina's best friend's family took us to the Oregon Coast Aquarium for a fun day for all.   The kids had a chance to play and be together at the aquarium.   And the moms had a chance to talk and get caught up.   The end of the perfect day was a drive back to Corvallis with coffee in hand!   (Oh, how I miss our Oregon coffee sessions!)

Outside near a rock in the bird aviary.

The King Family and Sabrina.

Keiko, the killer whale, had a huge tank created for him.   After he left, the tank was converted into large fish/ shark tunnels which had life swimming all around the tunnels.

The floors even had thick glass in them so we could see the fish beneath.

A leopard shark swims by.

A life sized killer whale (Orca).   The bone is real, but the painting is a screen.

Near the gift shop was an interactive room set up.

Two future Beavers check out the beaver dam.

Inside the center was a fishing to store interactive area.   This station had the fish store where the fish were weighed and paid for at the cash register.

Looking for customers.

The fishing hole where fish were caught with magnets.

The fishing hole was on the side of a ship where the captain could steer the ship to set the poles.

A wonderful exhibit!   The kids were very engaged learning about the fishing industry.
