Battery Park

On our long walk around Charleston, we walked along the oleander lined Battery to the park at the tip. This park is lined with old cannons used in the Civil War and Revolutionary War. Across the bay was Ft. Sumtner. In the park were various historical figures from the wars. This park also was famous for where twenty pirates were hung after being caught. Just blocks away or even across the street from this park are some of Charleston's finest old mansions.
