Starting in Florida, we drove through several state lines. We had our little gnome posing but he is so small, he is hard to see.
Most of our breaks were at the welcome centers which had nice grounds and information on the states.
The Louisiana welcome center had the most interesting educational exhibit:
One of the owners of a reptile farm was there with turtles and baby alligators.
Sabrina was allowed to hold a baby gator. Gators turned on their backs relax and may even fall asleep. This baby had been handled a lot and was well fed so he was a happy guy.
Sabrina is holding an albino turtle.
This cool tree snag has a bird carved into it and stained brown and black.
